fourth annual

when can something officially be called a "tradition?" well, this is the closest thing we've got. our dearest friends, a short walk over to the the christmas tree farm (4 blocks from our house), trapsing through the snow, finding the perfect spruce, dragging it back home, hot cocoa, nog and knob, and of course the fourth annual question, "where and the hell are we going to put this thing???" (yes, that's our tree off to the right in the above photo!)

it's always way too big, 'cause they look so much smaller in the woods. but it's a tradition that i love and i'd say that it's as close as we'll ever come to traditional.

this year was bittersweet due to bad weather. many couldn't make it. but the good news is everyone is alive.

oh, and the tree definitely won't fit in the door, but it sure looks nice on the front porch!

oh amanda - that is a fantastic shot of you and matt (and avery hiding in your coat). i had to just stare at it for a while - then something occurred to me -- those look like new glasses (online? do you like them?!?)

thanks for the note on the blog. totally understand the "day out with children" situation. no worries!

tell matt that we had a good meeting with the 3 ladies. hopefully we'll be working together soon. :)

glad you made the connection with the casa verde ladies. hope it is a fun project. it sounds really cool. also, yes the glasses are new!! i didn't do the online site (I needed to try them all on you see). I am not brave enough to just order them and hope for the best...but maybe i'll order a crazy pair, just for fun from that site! and maybe next year you'll have to come down for the festivities....it is always the first weekend in December so mark your calendar!
