sure signs of spring. birds at the feeder. waking to their morning songs. sun rising before we do. melting. dripping. little rivers cutting through the snow. these happen every year to signify the changing days.
but this year there is a new "sign" for spring. avery's first baby sign:
bird!
just today. in his high-chair, pointing, then putting his thumb and pointer finger together. chirp, chirp, chirp. that's right avery. bird!

mud in the backyard - everywhere. being able to crack the thin ice on the sidewalks in the morning. seeing blue skies and thinking about BBQing.
spring is (almost) here!
actually BBQing, an optimistic attitude, the ground softening under my feet, and thelma isn't wearing any clothes.

oh warm weather out here, just had a real spring play date at the park for 4 hours, and of course ice cream to follow,,lots of mud in the road, longer sunny days, I LOVE SPRING.the elk are back in the yard for there morning strolls!! I want to BBQ with a beer..truly spring!!the biys barefeet already!

oh, I forgot to mention....DQ West is open for the season. Spring must really be just around the bend. Coconut dilly's still made by hand and grandma's secret BBQ recipe!!!!

yesterday, walking the slush-riveted road, noticed the first alder buds of the season. what contrast! another sign: the early morning coyotes cackling across the valley.
